new to everything here i just bought the Pyro XS , when i few with in 24hr my frist couple of crashs i finly got it to stay in the air ,but i did got to puncher the sail, the next day i went to a kite fest, and some members of the AKA and KONE were there ,they showed me how to patch repair the sail , which they did for me and got some info too. but another question is how to tighten the trailing edge leach line, when i tighten the sail leading edge , the leach line loop got loose , is there a way to tighten this.

Somewhere I found this post from Dodd on adjusting leech lines. Its just part of the stuff I've been accumulating on my computer during the learning process.

I'd post the link if I remembered where it was at. I hope Dodd and the NewTech folks don't mind me copying it here. If so, I apologise, and ask that you edit or delete my post as you see fit. So, here it goes from the man himself:

"Some day I will get this up on our site. But here goes.

#1. With kite assembled, with the tension line assmbled and tight, unhook the white leech line on both sides and untie the loop that has already been pretied

#2. loop it over the knock, put enouth tension on it until you see some wrinkle in the sail, and then back off a bit, hold it in position and place the section of the line that you looped over the knock next to the section of it that is comming out of the kite.

#3. Mark both sections of that line with a magic marker, this will be your mark to tie your new loop, this is where the knot will go.

#4. now take the tension from the sail out by taking the standoffs out of the connectors on the lower spreaders, and unhooking the black tension line from the knocks. This will give you room to pull a bit of white line out to tie the new loop, BECAREFUL, dont pull out too much, just enough to make the loop.

#5. Now assemble it all back together and it should be good to go

This goes for any kite that uses a leech line

HOpe that helps

Dodd"

Thanks for the posting Albert

For an illustration of how to tension the leading edge, check out the following .pdf file.

Send me an email with your address and I can hook you up. Any idea if your spreaders are 5mm or 6mm OD (outside diameter)? A micrometer would be useful to determine this.
