|

I'm a newbie so forgive me if I use the wrong terminology....but I have a new Pyro XS. It's an great flying kite and I'm starting to be able to do things with it I haven't been able or cannot do with other kites...like get it to flip over from a stall and then recover. Don't even know what to call that. But my question is....sometimes after flipping it over the lines will catch on the trailing edge down near the nock and of course I lose control. Some kites use a cheat line or "M" line as described in Dodd's manual so when the kite flips over, the lines won't hang up as I've described.
Has anyone added such a line to their PyroXS and if so how, and what were the results? Thanks in advance!

Hey Bill,
Congrats on your quick progression.
I don't think any sort of trick line will eliminate snags at the wingtip. The "M" line may help prevent snags along the trailing edge, but most kites now do not include it. I think it has been deemed unnecessary. "M" lines are easy to make, so try it and see what happens.
For sure, try to clear any knots or snags around the wingtip. Things that can grab a line when it slides by. That should help a whole bunch.
