I say this because as summer approaches, I think the winds pretty much go away. Bummer, in that I am not getting into this; and I want WIND!!!!!

Now; with that said. When I flew the kites (3 singles / 1 Pyro XS) last Thursday, rain was on the way from Arkansas. It never got to us in the Memphis area (or just a little did), but the wind was present. It was joyous!!

Now; I live 48 miles from downtown Memphis. And; downtown Memphis lies right next to the mighty Mississippi River. I am told, and I cannot confirm this yet, that it is usually quite breezy down at Tom Lee Park (which is right on the river).

This could be my summer salvation.

Possibly! But; if it requires me to keep going backward to keep it in the air, I doubt, I will find much fun in that.

What do you recommend, Dodd?

I am not saying that you wont have to back up at all, but the thing that fliers seem to like about the Desire, is that if you have just a bit of wind, you dont have to move at all. Of course that does depend on your skill level to a cerain degree.....The kite is designed to easily be flown in very low winds without much movement required.

Hope that helps
